At the outbreak of the second world war, when tank transporter drivers were needed, it was to the loggers they turned for men with the skills and expertise to transport massive loads over really tough roads.

Then there is the study of the lives of wheat harvest workers. Men who come to the US to a work a summer driving grain trucks, Long hours, long roads, tough weather. They live eight to a trailer home for eight months as they work on the 2,000 Mile Harvest. Its the experience of a lifetime.

The n its to new Zealand to sample the lives of the men who keep New Zealand Agriculture on the move. Millions of sheep and cattle to be moved. Its a trucking culture like no other in the World. The livestock men take their own dogs around with them - in kennels slung under the 8 wheelers.
